WordPress: Embed Videos

Videos can be embedded using either a link or an embed code. 

Embed with a Link

  1. Copy the URL of the YouTube video by either
    1. Under the video, click Share


       
    2. Copy the provided URL


       
  2. Paste the URL into the WordPress text editor on its own line. You will know if you have done this correctly if the URL changes into a preview of the video.

 

Embed with Embed Code

Note: If you are using Safari, you need to change your cookies settings in order for the tool to load properly. 

 

  1. Copy the embed code
    1. Directions for copying embed code from Kaltura 
    2. Directions for copying embed code from YouTube*
  2. In WordPress, click Text on the top right-hand corner of the text box editor


     
  3. Paste the embed code into the text editor


     
  4. If you siwtch back to Visual mode, the video will appear

*Link will direct you to an outside site
